Lytchett RDA has a waiting list but we try to give priority to those most in need of our services, so it is worth contacting us if you have a child with a disability who would benefit from riding therapy.
We start working with children as young as 3 years old. Each rider is supported by at least three people. We use specially adapted tack and equipment and provide our riders with an approved safety helmet.
Our team includes experienced paediatric physiotherapists, and we work individually with riders to help them gain maximum benefit from their sessions.
We have great support from the children’s parents and teaching staff to help us find the best ways to make their riding enjoyable.
Sadly riding is not recommended for people with poor head control or with severe scoliosis. We assess all potential riders to ensure that riding will be a safe activity for them and for our volunteers.
